Killa Raipur- famous for Rural Olympics

Killa Raipur is about 20kms away from Ludhiana. It is very famous for the Rural Olympics which are held in mid February. People from different corners of Punjab come every year to observe the village youth demonstrate their sporting skills.

Kabaddi, Wrestling, and Weight lifting are the purely rural games. The performing sports are Acrobatics, Twisting an Iron-rod by placing it on the Adam's apple, passing a tractor over the rib cage, cracking a big stone slab on the chest. There are the modern sports like Athletics, Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Handball, Cycling etc.
