Yesterday in Nangal Congress workers assisted by the Rana KP Singh who is the former MLA and PPCC vice-president blocked the Nangal Dam-Ambala train.
They are protesting because they don’t want the Bhanupali railway station to be shut down. They blocked the Nangal Dam-Ambala train which starts its journey at 10:45AM and after the order of senior railway officials it was postponed at 11:04AM.
The Bhanupali station was shutdown due to militancy and after two years it was opened after the efforts made by MP Ravneet Singh Bittu. The old contractor left his job and now no one is interested in running the station so it is decided to shut down the station.
Rana told that around 40 villages are affected because of shutting down the station and they will have to go to Anandpur Sahib or Nangal to catch the train .
Amarpal Singh assistant commercial manager of Railway assured the protesters that he will talk to the higher authorities about it. So the protesters stopped the protest. And they said that if no decision has been taken about this till noon then they will again block the railway track.
Also the tehsildar of Nangal give assurance to the protesters that they will talk with the authorities of railway. Then the protesters left the station.
