In Zirakpur yesterday morning Suvidha Employees Union of the Punjab state held a protest because of which many passengers suffered for several hours. Suvidha Employees held this protest against the decision of state government that they will be shifted to the seva kendras which are run by a private company. Also they are demanding regular jobs for them.
This protest was stopped when the Naib Tehsildar of the Zirakpur assured these Suvidha Employee’s and also submitted a memo at DC office. The Suvidha Kendra work was suspended since September 7 by the Suvidha Employee’s for owing to the strike .The employees of the suvidha centre felt that the government had left them in a lurch. They don’t want to get merged with the staff of seva kendras.
Some of the protesters said that we want regular jobs and the government has ordered us to work under a private firm . We will never allow the government to spoil our future. We will try continuously until our demands has been accepted.
Punjab State Suvidha Employees Union president Harmeet Singh told that we have already forwarded complaints several times to the Punjab Government officials but they did not take any action and they have forced us to stage a protest. He also told that we have given assurance by the state government officials that a meeting would be held with the CM Parkash Singh Badal but officials of state government failed to do so we have staged this protest.
