At the minimum, five people were injured in the fight between the staff members of two private transport companies at the Madan Lal Dhingra Inter State Bus Terminus, Amritsar this morning.
The workers of Pyar Bus Service, maintained by Jasbir Singh Dimpa (Congress leader and former MLA) and the Baba Budha Sahib Bus Service, run by Nirmal Singh Kahlon (speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly and Shiromani Akali Dal leader) distorted each other’s vehicles.
Sources said stress had been develop between both of the operators after the immediate change of command in the state, bus timings and routes.
Ravikaran Singh Kahlon, Akali chief and a partner in the Baba Budha Sahib company, declared that the Congress-backed Pyar Bus Service had started running 40 buses on the Amritsar-Jalandhar route without the permission.
He confuted Pyar Bus worker ‘s statements that his employees carried sharp-edged weapons and guns. Ravikaran Singh Kahlon said that -“Our buses, which had valid documents, were being stopped by Congress leaders’ bus operators. When our workers pointed to it, they attacked them and harmed our buses.”
Ravikaran Singh Kahlon said that We also have the audio clips of their menacing phone calls. Ravikaran Singh Kahlon also said that our staff members Jaggi and Makhan both are admitted in the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, as they were mercilessly beaten by the rivals.
Where, Rajan Gill The owner of Pyar Bus Service states that- “All our buses have valid permissions and documentations.He said that Kahlon’s staff members harmed our buses and shot at our workers. He also said “During the decade-long government of the Akalis, the Kahlon’s kept eluding taxes as nobody pointed them. But Now, when questions are being deployed by us, they are using the violence.
Jagir Singh,Depot Incharge of Pyar Bus Service is badly injured in this clash. He said that- the group of 40-45 persons attacked on me and my Colleagues at the entrance of the bus stand. All are with the sharp-edged weapons and with pistols.Gurpreet Singh, the Colleague of Jagir Singh also injured badly in this war. He said that “the attackers belonged to the Baba Budha Sahib Bus Service and they destroyed our buses.”
This Case had been registered against the Baba Budha Sahib company under the Sections 382, 336, 160, 427, 148, 149 and Section 25 of the Arms Act. -said by Prabhjot Singh Virk ( ACP East).
