The National health profile-2015 unveils the status of Punjab and Haryana as both states stand at ground in terms of government expenditure.
Recorded data says that In Haryana, per capita health expenditure is Rs 661 while in Punjab it is Rs 728 whereas Himachal Pradesh & J&K are quite advance of these two states as Himachal as their per capita health expenditure is Rs 1593 and Rs 1009 respectively.
In differentiation with other states, Punjab is investing 0.51 percent whereas if we heed the data of other states, Chandigarh, Himachal, Jammu & Kashmir and Delhi are expending 1%, 1.49%, 1.55% and 0.79 percent respectively.
Health economics experts say that this situation is compelling people to make the spending on health on their own. It clearly displays the inefficiency of government in health sector. They added that this worse situation will force people to neglect health care services.
