80 years ago on 23 March 1931 the great Indian Patriotic of Punjab Shaheed Bhagat Bhagat Singh and his two friends Shaheed Sukhdev and Shaheed Rajguru were hanged by the British Government.
When Bhagat Singh hanged he was only 23 years old. In his life he refused to seek clemency from the British.
He was born in Sikh family and in his teenager age he was involved in revolutionary activities against the British Government. He worked with several revolutionary organizations and attracted more people to join the revolution of freedom.
After the death of Lala Lajat Rai he killed John Saunders a British officer. He gained widespread support when he undertook a hunger strike of 116 days for getting equal rights alike European prisoners. At last he was convicted and hanged for his participation in the assassination in his younger age of 23.
