In the list of Periodical Holidays of 2015 The state government has made some modifications. The change which has been done is that the holiday on the occasion of the Prakash Purb of Shri Chand was oserved on September 23 would now be observed on September 22, 2015.

Best Tourists places in Nawanshahr are Sanehi Temple, Gurudwara Charan Kanwal Sahib, Gurudwara Patshahi VI Durgapur. Nawanshahr also has a rail track which connecting it with Jalandhar, Jaijon and Rahon.
