District police has busted a gang of robbers by arresting its four members from Bhalwan village and recovered Rs 10.76 lakh, 13 mobile phones, four motorcycles and one car from them. Addressing a press conference here today, Inspector General of Police, zonal-1 Patiala range P S Gill said, By arresting the four members of the gang yesterday, Sangrur police have not only recovered the money of sensational robbery of Patran but also recovered the loot of robberies of districts Mansa, Patiala, Bathinda and Barnala.†Even few robberies of Haryana also, he added. Giving the details of the accused, the IGP said Kulvinder Singh alias Kala, Happy Singh alias Rimpy alias doctor, Basant Singh alias Bhthi all residents of Diwangarh Camper (Dirba) and one Gobind Singh alias Gobindi of Khanal Khurd. They all belong to age group of 20-30. He further said Gobind Singh is a declared proclaimed offender since four years by Rajasthan police in a case registered against him of kidnapping at Kota. Gobind Singh kidnapped one Nishan Singh from Kota and demanded ransom of Rs 25 lakh. A case in this connection is registered at police station Naipur in Kota district under section 364 and 34 of IPC on July 27, 2012. Sangrur Senior Superintendent of Police M S Sidhu said, “On a tip-off, CIA staff had put ‘naka’ near village Bhalwan, led by sub-inspector Gurmail Singh and arrested the four members.” While searching the car, police also recovered three pistols 32 bore with 10 live cartridges, one 315 bore pistol with two live cartridges and three blank signed cheques of Garg Bus service account.
