Union minister of power, coal and renewal energy Piyush Goyal on Monday sanctioned.Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who called on the union minister, urged the Centre to resolve the pending issues of state power utilities. Goyal said` 800 crore sanctioned under DDUGJY would be released shortly.
He said Punjab, which was already a forerunner when it comes to power production in the country, would get further boost with the central project to upgrade its transmission and distribution power system in rural areas.
