Specify no. of destitute kids benefiting from schemes: HC

The Punjab and Haryana High Court wants to know the number of destitute children getting benefit of schemes in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. A Division Bench of the High Court has also called for information on the total expenditure incurred under the schemes. “The States of Punjab and Haryana as well as the Union Territory of Chandigarh are directed to supply information as to how many destitute children are getting benefit under schemes. This information is to be supplied district-wise. Information regarding the total expenditure being incurred under such schemes should also be supplied,” the Bench of Justice Satish Kumar Mittal and Justice Sneh Prashar said.
