2,180 special children were treated for cardiac ailments and thalassemia free of cost in the state. While 1,844 disabled children were cured for various heart problems, 336 such children were provided free treatment for thalassemia at various tertiary care institutes such as Chandigarh, PGIMER, Ludhiana DMC and CMC, Fortis and Max Hospitals in Mohali, besides other private hospitals in the state.
