Punjab Congress president, Partap Singh Bajwa today demanded the registration of a case against all the directors of the Dabwali transport company whose bus allegedly hit a man near Ropar toll plaza this morning killing him on the spot. Today’s incident is a classic example of hit and run as the bus driver didn’t even bother to stop after crushing deceased identified as Swaran Singh while police failed to take any action against the culprit. He said the family of the victim Swaran Singh of Behrampur village should be paid a compensation of Rs 30 lakh by the Dabwali transport company and government job to a member of the bereaved family should be given by the Punjab Government on the pattern of the Moga tragedy involving Orbit bus. He also appealed to Punjab and Haryana High Court to take suo motto notice of this another case involving the transport company of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and impose ban on the plying of the Badal family buses which had turned into killing machines on the highways. The Dabwali Transport was started by his father and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. He said the local Congress leaders were sitting on dharna since morning demanding action against the company and compensation to the bereaved family and made it clear it would continue till the acceptance of all the demands.
