The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has again raised the volume of water being released into the Sutlej river due to the increased inflow of water into the Bhakra Dam.Today, the flood gates of the dam were lifted further and a total of 59,900 cusec of water was released downstream. Yesterday, a total of 55,000 cusec water was released from the dam.The discharge from the dam is likely to be increased further in the coming days as the meteorological department has forecast heavy rain on August 14 in the catchment area.
