With arrest of four persons on Tuesday, Ferozepur police claimed to have busted an inter-district gang involved in vehicle thefts and recovered 22 motorcycles from their possession. Giving details, Ferozepur senior superintendent of police Hardial Singh Mann said those arrested have been identified as Nishan Singh alias Lally and Gursharan Singh alias Sonu, both residents of Malwal, and Sonu alias Baba and Veeru, residents of Bajidpur village. The SSP said a police team nabbed the accused with four stolen vehicles near the old dairy farm where they were planning to another theft. A case under sections 399, 402, 379 and 411 IPC has been registered against them. During investigations, the accused confessed that they had been stealing vehicles for the past one year. Nishan is the leader of the gang and a couple of cases have been registered against him in the district. The gang member’s moved around areas like bus stands, markets and hospitals from where they used to escape with vehicles using duplicate keys.
