The Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded resignation of revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia and a CBI probe against him after the counsel of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer Niranjan Singh in the Punjab and Haryana high court mentioned the alleged pressure tactics adopted by the minister for his transfer.AAP’s Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said his party had been at the forefront of the anti-drug campaign, and time and again had highlighted the politico-drug smuggler nexus. The party had always maintained that there were certain black sheep in the police who participated in or looked the other way in drug cases. This had been proved with the involvement of a DSP in Punjab, BJP state president Kamal Sharma’s ex-PA Jimmy Sandhu and now his OSD Amrit Pal’s involvement in the case of letting off arrested drug smugglers, Chhotepur said in a press statement.
