A local court today sent notorious gangster Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggu and his accomplice Shamsher alias Shera to ‘three day’ police custody. Meanwhile, SSP Amritsar rural, Jasdeep Singh told UNI that 80 per cent of Jaggu’s gang who are involved in more than 25 cases, including that of looting and drug smuggling has been neutralised and the remaining will be nabbed soon. However, during a raid police recovered over Rs five lakh from the residence of one of Jaggu’s associate Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi. Police have registered a case against Gopi. Police said that Jaggu’s facebook account was being operated from Dubai by Supreet Singh alias Lovely, while from Australia it was being operated by Balraj Singh alias Waris. Police has nominated the name of both in this case. The police has also registered a case against Balraj Singh’s father who lives in Amritsar for harbouring the gangster under IPC and IT Act. Jaggu and his accomplice Shera were nabbed by Amritsar rural police after an encounter on Sunday night in Majitha. In 2013, Jaggu escaped from the police custody near Dera Beas when he was being brought to Amritsar cour for a hearing.
