Issuing notice of motion to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and another respondent for October 15, Justice Amol Rattan Singh of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today made it clear that the selection of linemen shouldn’t be finalised. “If the selection has already been finalised, appointment letters be not issued, pursuant thereto, till the next date of hearing,” Justice Amol Rattan Singh said. The directions came on a petition filed by Harjinder Singh and other petitioners. Appearing on their behalf, counsel Karanvir Singh Khehar submitted that the selection in question was made on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the ITI examination conducted in different institutes under the aegis of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training.
