As many as 1,000 protesting teachers of Education Gurantee Scheme (EGS) held a rally here to mark the release of their eleven colleagues from Bathinda jail today. Addressing the rally, Ms Kulwant Rani and Mr Davinder Singh Gill, leaders of EGS teachers, said their peaceful struggle would continue until and unless their demands, including withdrawal of false cases registered against them by Bathinda Police, were accepted. They vehementally announced that their struggle will continue and its venue could be changed from Baghapurana to some other places. Ms Rani also said their eight colleagues are still sitting on the water tank and will continue until their demands were conceded. She also said unfortunately the Punjab Chief Minister failed to take any interest in their struggle when study of the students is suffering due to their protest.
