Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of legendary Poet Sardar Anjum who passed away at a private hospital in Mohali after a prolonged illness.
Sardar Anjum breathed his last at a private hospital in Mohali yesterday after battling for life for more than a one month. In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Sardar Anjum as a “great poet who made an outstanding contribution for cementing the bond of communal harmony and brotherhood in the society through his pen. Recalling the literary services of Sardar Anjum, Mr Badal said that he was an imminent Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi litterateur, who would ever inspire the budding artistes through his prolific writings. The Chief Minister said that in the death of the renowned poet Sardar Anjum a void had been created in literary circles which was difficult to be filled in the near future. Sharing his sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give them courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.
