38-year-old popular Punjabi singer Dharampreet committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan at his home in Bathinda. According to his mother Balvir Kaur, Dharampreet was upset due to downfall in his career. “For last few days, he would often say that this fan will take my life,” she said. His wife Mandeep Kaur and 11-year-old son were not at home at the time. According to his mother, Dharampreet did not open the door till 10 am on Monday. She then called neighbours for help who forced open the door to find the singer hanging with the fan. Dharampreet’s Gurnaib Singh was shocked to hear about the singer’s death. “We were childhood friends. He stayed at my house while coming back from Batala last night.
