Punjab government on Thursday announced to raise compensation for families of debt-ridden farmers, who committed suicide, from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.The state has enhanced amount of compensation given to debt-ridden farmers, who have committed suicide, to Rs three lakh from earlier amount of Rs two lakh,” an official spokesperson of the agriculture department said.Besides, the state government also announced to give compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of farmer/labourer who died of snake-bite.
