Punjab Government, in the recent past, has registered five cases with regard to spurious pesticides used to control whitefly pest attack on cotton in the Malwa belt of the State. Stating this, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal directed that samples of pesticide used to tackle whitefly pest be taken from various pesticides distributors across the State. He also directed Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini to register cases right up to the level of manufacturers of the spurious pesticides.
