Panjab University Students Union (PUSU) is the most violent among all eight student unions with 16 student leaders — including some former union activists — being put in the category of trouble-makers, who will be under special surveillance in view of the upcoming student elections.A total of 131 vehicles belonging to the parties were shortlisted for keeping a special eye on their movements during the election. The Student Organization of India (SOI) is the strongest student party in terms of the number of vehicles, as about 43 out of 131 vehicles belong to this union. Three educational institutions — Panjab University, DAV College, and Shri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGSC), were declared the most sensitive in view of violence near the elections.
