Three booked in cheating case in Punjab

District police on the complaint of Nirmal Singh (50), have booked mother-son duo Ramesh Kumari (48) and Deepak Kumar (26) of Maghu Patti under Baghapurana police station along with one Sanjiv Kumar resident of Jodhan under section 420 and 120-B of IPC act. According to police, the three allegedly duped Nirmal Singh on pretext of sending his son Lakhwinder Singh (22) to Singapore on two year’s work visa. They took eight lakh from the complainant but never arranged the visa for his son. Assistant sub inspector and investigation officer Karamjit Singh said, “A complaint was received on March 20 last and formal case was registered on Sunday.
