The Nagpur-Amritsar and Nagpur-Pune AC trains, whose 12 coaches have arrived at Ajni yard, have been held up for four coaches. However, Nagpur division of Central Railway is optimistic that the trains will start in October for the pre-Diwali rush, said Central Railway divisional railway manager (DRM) OP Singh.
For Pune, the rush is too much and the ticket booking has already started. At present, apart from Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express passing through Nagpur, there is daily train to Pune in the form of Nagpur-Pune Express and Garib Rath. Nagpur and surrounding districts have a sizeable Sikh community. Most of these families still have strong connections with Punjab and frequently travel to the northern state.
