It was yet another dark day in the history of Tricity as it lost another artist of honour, Shiv Singh. Singh was diabetic and a heart patient too. His family informed that he had undergone two stent surgeries, the last one in 2004. On Tuesday he had a massive heart attack and was admitted to a private hospital in panchkula. However he could not recover. He is survived by his Wife Gizela and Son Yasvin. “The attack was unexpected” His wife said, who was present with him all through his hospitalization. Unable to believe the loss of his life partner she said, “He used to have little breathing problems sometimes, but we never linked it to his heart problem. I stayed with him throughout and came back to our home only on Thursday night.” “I was informed by the doctors around 4.30 in the morning that he had passes away. All the organs in his body had stopped functioning.” She added. Singh’s son Yasvin lives in Frankfurt, Germany and is struggling to get his tickets booked. “He is trying to get the ticket. I am expecting him to reach by Sunday.” It is only after the son reaches India that the family will decide about the Funeral.A painter, sculptor, designer, Shiv Singh was born in Hoshiarpur in 1938 and from 1958 to 1963, he studied at the Punjab College of Arts, first in Shimla and then in Chandigarh.
