The people of his constituency behind him, chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Inderbir Singh Bolaria seems to be in an upbeat mood, showing no signs of retraction to his opposition to the proposed Solid Waste Management Plant at Bhagtanwala in his assembly segment. As his dharna against the plant enters second week on Monday, Bolaria made it clear to his party and the government that he “was with the people of his constituency, including the Bhagtanwala residents”, showing no signs of a climb down from his stance despite being isolated by his party. His confidence seems to be taking a leap with his party MLA from Jalandhar Cantonment and former Indian hockey captain Pargat Singh voicing a similar concern for a village in his constituency, which is being turned into a dumping ground.
