Earthquake Relief Work – Nepal & India

This is further to the communication from President, CII with reference to Earthquake Relief Work being initiated by CII to support the efforts of the Government of India.

CII has already initiated a major relief work in close coordination with Government of India and the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI). The first batch of immediate relief (ready to eat food, water, tarpaulin, biscuits, raincoats, blankets, tents, essential medicines, etc.) has already been dispatched.

CII has also set up a high level “India & Nepal Task Force on Earthquake Relief Operations” under the chairmanship of Mr Sanjiv Goenka, Past President, CII.

The Task Force will coordinate and guide CII’s efforts not only in providing immediate relief but also rolling-out a comprehensive programme for long term rehabilitation of earthquake affected victims in Nepal and parts of India, especially West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh & Bihar.

I am writing with a special request to you to consider contributing generously to the Relief & Rehabilitation Work both in cash & kind, being coordinated by CII.
