The ancient city Ferozepore is believed to have been founded by FerozeshahTughluq in the earlier 14th century. FerozeshahTughluq , out of his passion for new cities, built many mosques, monasteries and renamed many of the old ones after his own name. As a true servant of God, he believed in providing public places to the elderly and the learned people, so that they could pray and worship in these holy places. Ferozepur witnessed many military expeditions, because of its strategic location in the northwest of the country.
