In a village of Hoshiarpur potatoes and pea crops have been affected by the rust and the late blight disease. The number of scientists from Punjab Agricultural University conducted a survey.
Various areas of Hoshiarpur that affected by the blight diseases are Maheteaaana, Fuglana, Simbli, Monakalan, and Kalkat. The areas where pea crop get affected by rust are Pham, Badla, Patti, Kharke and Hariyian.
The head of Pathology lab Dr PS Sekhon the weather conditions supports this disease to attack on the crops quickly and easily. He explained that the symptoms for potatoes disease is that water-soaked spots appear on the leaves margins that turn up into batches are black with whitish fungus growth that is clearly seen on the surface during the hours of morning.
He clearly explained the farmers that they continuously monitor their fields regularly and when the symptoms are noticed, the spray has been sprayed on the crops with Indofil M-45 or Antracol or Kavach in 250-350 litres of water to be checked when it sprayed. Again repeat this process after regular intervals.
For pea rust, yellow to dark colored spots on the leaves have shown. He advised farmers to spray out 400g of M-45 in 200litres of water per acre. This process is repeated for 2 to 3 times in a day.
