Peasants are demanding lofty compensation as they have suffered a huge loss despite of giving extreme care to their crops. Pesticides provided by government proved worthless and unproductive.
Punjab people are reinforcing the farmers in difficult hours by being part of the protestation. Different organizations such as BKU Ekta (Krantikari), BKU Ekta (Ugrahan), BKU Ekta (Dakunda) and Kirti Kisan are also elevating the concern of the farmers and to intensify their perturbation, they have decided to keep sustained this blockade of rail traffic for next two days i.e. October 7 and 8.
Peasants are insisting government to provide compensation of Rs 40,000 per acre for crops which got destructed due to white-fly attack and for basmati PUSA 1509 Rs 45,00 per quintal have been decided.
