The Akal Takht has set up a committee to look into the apparent deformity of ‘amrit sanchar by the Namdhari sect, even as the five high priests were failed to come to the closure on this matter.
Giani Gurbachan Singh (Akal Takht Jathedar) said- this delicate issue needed to be examined further. Reports had been collected at the Takht that ‘havan’ and ‘amrit sanchar’ were completed by seven christian women of the Namdhari sect, reportedly in violation of Sikh tenets.
Recently, Giani Gurbachan Singh had managed the SGPC( Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee)to check the issue and subsequently invited ideas from Sikh intellectuals and religious bodies across the world.
He said- “We have build a council containing representatives of prominent Sikh organisations. It has been asked to submit a data report in a month. We will take a decision according to that report.”
The committee includes Avtar Singh Hit, Bhai Partap Singh, Giani Resham Singh , Sant Teja Singh, Principal Surinder Singh, and Waryam Singh. Simranjit Singh (SGPC’s vice secretary, Dharam Parchar Committee) Simranjit Singh would coordinate with the committee.
