Punjab and Haryana have outstretched at 8th position for constructing the toilets and Chandigarh has gained 100 percent door to door garbage collection.
Swachh Bharat Mission Campaign has motivated various organizations to participate in the working of cleanliness and the day of 2nd October was entirely dedicated to this noble work last year.
M Venkaiah Naidu has targeted of making 25 lakh toilets and out of that around 4.64 lakh has been done and rest would be completed by the end of 2016. Further he added that Gujarat was topping in the list by constructing 33,670 toilets followed by Madhya Pradesh (7,244), Punjab (5,677), Karnataka (1,845), Haryana (1,829), Chhattisgarh (1,676), Mizoram (300), Rajasthan (167), Manipur (41) and Uttarakhand (22).
