Chief Executive Officer Deoraj Chaturvedi of International Kabaddi federation told that Pakistan is an important member as well as stakeholder of the federation, but in view of the current political environment, we have decided, in the best activity of the sport, that this world cup should be played outwardly Pakistan.
Punjab President Sikander Singh Maluka told that based on our present relations with the Pakistani coordinatewe will definitely send an invitation to them for participation in the Kabaddi world cup . Kabaddi is not related with the politics and people in both countries love the game and Pakistanis are our best players on ground. We will definitely invite them besides the Union Government did confirm us.
The Kabaddi World Cup will be organized from October 7 to October 22. The participating countries are the US, England, Australia, Iran, Poland, Thailand, Bangladesh, South Korea, Japan, Argentina and Kenya, besides India. Already the various teams have been started arriving.
The 6th Kabaddi World Cup will be organised from November 3rd to 17th which includes 14 venues in Punjab.
