For the speedy completion of 206 Megawatt, Shahpur Kandi Dam Project which was being delayed for a long time, A pact has been signed between J&K and Punjab.
The J&K government had seized the construction work on 3rd September, 2014, however couples of meetings were arranged between two states and in those meetings, Punjab requested to resume the work.
The Punjab delegation had a detailed discussion with J&K Secretary BR Sharma and Parvez Malik, Flood Control Department and after the meeting, both states decided that all issues pertaining to land acquisition would be settled by 23rd October.
Subsequent to 23rd October meeting, the requisite details would be presented in front of Punjab Cabinet and after that the honorable chief ministers would give final consent to the fresh pact.
