Famous writers and poets have give up their awards over the “risk to free speech and communal dissonance” Dalip Kaur Tiwana, a retired Punjab professor from Punjabi University has declare to return her Padma Shri award which she got in 2004.
In the interview she said that she is feeling bad and hurt and also said that this is not affect only to writers but also to the identity of country. She also feel bad and express her harmony with Nayantara Sahgal and other writers remonstrating against the “increasing communalization” of culture.
