Ludhiana is only selected in the list of 20 cities to be developed in 2016 under the project of smart city. From the central and state governments the municipal corporation will get 200 crores by 31 March.
For this project intimately Ghumar Mandi, Sarabha Nagar market and Ferozepur road are selected for the project execution. This project includes assured electricity supply with at least 10%, solid waste management, waste water recycling, and storm water reuse as well as smart metering.
Other tender consists of pedestrian-friendly pathways, intelligent traffic management, smart parking; energy-efficient street lighting, innovative use of open spaces and safety of citizens, especially children, women and elderly.
