The new District Administrative Complex of Mohali is ready which is located in Sector 76. Orders has been given to offices to move in the new District Administrative Complex. Office of the Deputy Commissioner and the SSP is also going to be shifted on August 25.
It is scheduled that The DAC will be inaugurated on August 25 by CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. The DAC is designed by Punjab Architecture Department and framed by Deepak Builders.
Saroj who is an state government architect said that DAC is a five stories building which also has a parking facility in basement. There was also a provision for constructing three floors in future if needed. She told that red sandstone and Dholpur stone are used on DACs exterior and arches. DAC is fully air-conditioned and have lifts and ramps.
She said that Seva Kendra, Fard kendra and Suvidha Centre are set on ground floor.
Deepak Builders project manager Rakesh Goyal told that individual entry gates have been provided to the DC , his officers ,SSP , tehsil offices and there is a separate gate which is for public.
He also said that SDM and DTO offices will be on ground floor and Deputy Commissioner and the SSP offices will be on first floor. DAC is spread across 7 acres area and it costs over Rs 110 crore. He also told that DAC helps in saving power because it is a sensored building so when a room is empty Electric gadgets will automatically switched off. There is also a provision of a restroom for women, creche, bank and canteen.
The DAC will also have the offices of Animal Husbandry, Food Supply, Horticulture, Sports, Social Security, Education and as well as so many other departments offices.
