Yesterday State Institute of Health and Family Welfare in Mohali a function was organised. In this function Surjit Kumar Jyani who is the Health and Family Welfare Minister of the state handed over appointment letters to around 86 new Medical Officers. These medical officers are appointed by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences which is located in Faridkot.
On this occasion Vini Mahajan Principal Secretary Health was also present. Minister welcomed the new doctors and motivated them to work hard and serve the people of the state. Health and family welfare minister told that by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences around 341 vacancies of Medical Officers were advertised. The first batch of 86 doctors given the appointment letters after following the selection procedure.
He also added that the by the department the next round of the counselling would be done very shortly. In the next round of the counselling who will clear the round will be issued appointment letters. For these newly appointed doctors the induction course has also been started simultaneously. After completing this induction course they will be appointed as doctors in the various government hospitals in the state.
Vini Mahajan told that the number of visitors in the government hospitals increased so the new doctors will get the exposure and experience that they required.
Director Health Services of Punjab Dr HS Bali wali told about the different health programmes and schemes of the Health Department to these newly appointed medical officers.
