Sangrur MP Bhagwant Singh Mann (state convener) thrown out Upkar Singh Sandhu from the AAP. The reason for doing this is said to be – Upkar Sandhu’s alleged anti-party activities.
Sandhu, who had participated in the Amritsar Lok Sabha bypoll on AAP ticket, had conflicted the Mann’s promotions by saying that the party should now be pronounced as ‘PPP’ (peg pyala party).
Earlier, Upkar Singh Sandhu was with the Akali Dal and had a brief three-month period with the congress party as well.
Upkar Singh Sandhu states that he was the eyewitness of bhagwant Mann’s habitual drinking, during the rally in Attari when he could not even stand properly on the stage.
Asked about his suspension, Sandhu said “He was prepared for it”.”I have no any dissatisfaction with this . I was impressed with the ethics of Aam Aadmi Party , but now at this time, it has already digress from it. It is better that now I am not the part of this party”.
Upkar Singh also stated that- “The party had to face many humiliating situations due to Mann’s drinking habit, but it was ignored. From my Point of view- appoint Mann as the state convener is the self-destructive attempt by AAP”.
Party’s chief whip Sukhpal Khaira and former convener Gurpreet Singh need to have opposed the move.
On the sidelines of his visit to the family of martyr Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh at Vein Poin village in Tarn Taran, Mann said: “The participants are the backbone of the party, but the anti-party activities will not be permitted.”
Answering the questions on his next course, Sandhu said, “I am a born Akali. Pro-Punjab was only the ideology of the Akali Dal, but the Badals destroyed it. If the present governance changes at any stage, I will surely rejoin the Akali Dal.”
