On the third day fifth world literacy conference, that was held in Punjabi University by Punjab literacy department because various achievements got by them.
The director of National School of Drama, New Delhi, named Devinder Raj Ankur was inaugurated the conference Dr Atamaji gave speech on the occasion. While the Principal welcomed all the guests.
The Director addressed that the Bengali and Punjab theatres were started by foreign play writes. But the Bengali theatre become famous while Punjabi theatre is not so popular among people.
He said the theatre is more similar to poetry, novels and other fictional work but a person does not entertain with it. He also talking about the effect of latest technology on theatre, the main lead is not so much seen to people on TV and Films because the lack of knowledge of the director, writer, camerapersons etc.
He explained that Punjabi theatre was yet to need have to match with the Bengali and Marathi theatre. He wished that Punjabi Theatre crosses the Indian boundaries and not influence by western culture and try to follow their classic culture.
