50 Percent of the school buses in Chandigarh have some of serious safety issues. This can be stated in the inspection report given by the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child.
This commission has been hired by the Punjab and Haryana High Court for monitoring the safety in school buses of Chandigarh.
After that the members of this committee inspect around 600 to 800 school buses. There are three different teams are organized for this purpose. Their reports said that there are 50 percent of school buses do not contain the emergency doors, buses should run without any permit, there is no verification of staff and no first aid contraceptives are present in the buses.
The first aid box is only found in five buses while three of them were issued only warnings and the other two were paid fine of 10,000 own wards. The committee warned management of the schools that they properly checked the verification papers and all security issues in the school buses.
