Another revelation done by the national drug dependence treatment centre has revealed that an astonishing 2.5 crore is spend by the drug addicts everyday. These revelations have showed an unprecedented number of drug abusing problems in the state of Punjab as well as Haryana, Kashmir, Bihar etc. Another surprising fact that has come up is that the age group which is most affected by the drug wave is from 18 to 35 which mainly consists of the youth.
There are 2 kinds of drugs which are currently being abused in Punjab which are Opiote drugs which are derived from opium plus synthetic as well synthetic pharmaceuticals. Heroin is another drug which is being widely by the drug addicts. These drugs are being supplied all the way from Pakistan and addicts are spending obscene amount of money on drugs which is effecting the population as well as economy of these states .
