HC has instructed the government to make complete payment to sugarcane farmers within the period of one month. It has also been strictly directed that payment needs to be deposited into farmer’s personal bank account.
Justice SK Mittal approved these directives after apprehending the severe condition of sugarcane farmers who are not getting their payments in time.
The government has decided to give loan to the mills in order to avoid the delay of payment from mill end and mills are supposed to pay back the same loan amount to the state authorities.
One sugar mill at Naraingarh, yet has not made the complete payment and pending amount is approximately 48 crore, which the mill is supposed to pay to the sugarcane farmers. However the state has made efforts to issue the loan but the mill authorities are not able to fulfill requisite essentials.
The centre government has also declared that if payment is made prior 30th September, they can avail concession of 10 percent on interest.
