The teachers of Sikhiya provider Teachers Union Punjab are on strike they begged like beggars on streets and polish the shoes of people to symbolize their anger against the State Government in Mohali today.
In protest there are almost fifty members participated. They did protest against the state government towards their pending requests, some of them sit in front of Fortis hospital like beggars and other polish the shoes of locality people.
These protestors earlier sit on hunger strike before 33 days near the Director General School Education’s office in 8 Phase. The state president of union named Ajmer aulakh said the state government is not bothered about their demands.
He demanded to regularize the jobs of all the protesters. He explained that around 7000 teachers are regularly provided services to government schools of state. They increase the standard of education and try to furnish more facilities and knowledge for children.
He told this was not their first protest they also sit on hunger strike in 2011 for 35 days in Batala and 47 days in Patiala to regularize them. The state government promises them with agreement but they did not regularize them.
