Yesterday at Punjab Raj Bhawan V P Singh Badnore has been taken oath as the Punjab Governor. He is also appointed as Administrator of Chandigarh Administration.
He took oath in presence of S J Vazifdar Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court. CM Parkash Singh Badal congratulated him for appointed as new Punjab Governor and Administrator of UT Chandigarh.
Badnore has replaced Kaptan Singh Solanki who is holding the secondary charge of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administration . Currently Kaptan Singh Solanki is the Governor of Haryana. Badnore is from Bhilwara and was a BJP legislator for four times in Rajasthan assembly. As a MLA in his last term he was appointed as state Irrigation minister. He was also a member of Lok Sabha as well as of Rajya Sabha.
He was graduated from Mayo College, Ajmer in business management and also studied in ASCI Hyderabad. Badnore is described as an Agriculturist, Environmentalist, Social Worker, and Sportsman as he took part in national school-level swimming competitions on the basis of his Rajya Sabha records. He is one of the widely travelled parliamentarian.
