The Manpreet Akhtar who sings the song “Dil Roya Te Akhh Bhar Aayi” from the film “kuch kuch hota hai” has died from the attack coupled with brain hemorrhage at 12:30 am at her home in Patiala.
She left her family, fans and fellow artists in the age of 52. The legendary singer Manpreet has two sons Naved Akhtar and Lavid Akhtar both of them are singers. She belongs to the family of singing legends.
She started singing from small platforms. It was a great co-incidence that the first song she was sung composed by her brother Dilshad that was “Aakhe lag ni man tu fakkaran de kehe”.
Manpreet did not follow the line of popular singers in her life. She always visited to various functions specially that were organized in North Cultural Centre and functions that were organized in the residences of Chief Minister and Governor.
