With a recent high in farmer suicides the government trying to tackle the problem with promises in supporting and financing the farmers another section of farming community has been inspired to ask for their share of support. The labor employed in performing farming activities has come forward to demand that there loans be waved off.
Around a hundred dalit families residing in Rasoolpur village have been living under debt that they took form the cooperative society. The loan which was initially around 9,000 to 10,000 has now added up to be around 20,000 to 70,000 with interest added. The farm labors demand some concrete steps to be taken in resolving their loans and providing them with more permanent and secure employment so they can live a debt free life and support their families.
