Today Navjot Singh Sidhu who is the Congress candidate for Amritsar East assembly constituency accused the Badals of having looted Punjab during their 10 years regime.
Sidhu said that the Badal family’s intention was to become richer with the people’s money. Punjab has suffered a lot because of their never ending greed. He also termed Badal’s as selfish.
Navjot Singh Sidhu compared the excise collection figures of Punjab and Tamil Nadu. He claimed that Punjab has 12,500 vends and Tamil Nadu has 6,323 vends. The revenue collection from these stands at just Rs 5,610 crore than Tamil Nadu’s Rs 26,188 crore.
SAD government closed the government-run hotels in Punjab as well as put on sale. Sidhu added that Badal family had sold these hotels to their associates at throwaway prices. Badals has built a hotel at periphery of Chandigarh charges Rs 5 lakh per night;
When Badal family was not in power in year 2007 they owned only 50 buses but today they owned 650 buses . And they have owned eight transport companies. Government companies having larger fleets are running in very huge losses but Badal family’s buses are running on huge profits sidhu claimed.
Sidhu also claimed that Badals are stealing around Rs 10,000 crore in VAT only. Badal family have collected Rs 1,700 crore from sale of the government properties.
Sidhu urged from the people that don’t fall in the Badals’ trap. There is a dire need of a change in the Punjab State. He said that he has never seen such hatred among the people against government.
