India and Pakistan these two countries having tensions between them. But today Dosti Bus took by India to Pakistan empty. Pakistan stopped its air space and motorways of its northern area on Thursday and Indian Government did not stopped its biweekly ritual that is a bus service from Amritsar-Nankana Sahib to Wagah.
Ajit Singh Kohar Minister of Punjab Transport told that we are a state government so we cannot stop the bus because it is the issue between the governments of both the Countries . We are pained at different places like Dinanagar, Pathankot and Uri by the terrorists from Pakistan . With the heavy heart we took the journey on Friday.
This bus service was started in 2006 which is from Attari in Amritsar and Nankana Sahib in Pakistan . In 2015 Pakistan restricted this service from Amritsar and Wagah only because of the security reasons. Indians were giving security only up to Wagah. The Passengers can travel to Nankana Sahib on their own risk.
From September 1 only 2 passengers undertook the journey . And after the Uri attack Pakistan did not granted the visa on time so on Thursday we could not undertaken the service. Also a senior official of the Punjab Roadways told that we have applied for the visa before the expiry date but Pakistan did not granted it on time and our staff waited whole day in Pakistan High Commission.
Yesterday we took the bus without any passenger. Passengers who were travelling through the Dosti Bus are required a police verification to cross Wagah this is another reason why the passengers decline to travel in Dosti bus.
